4. Freshly ground black pepper - 1 teaspoon
5. Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, pounded thin - 4 (6 ounce)
6. Bacon strips - 8
7. Onion, sliced - 1
8. Lemon-pepper seasoning - ¼ teaspoon
9. Italian seasoning - ¼ teaspoon
10. Salt - ¼ teaspoon
11. Red pepper flakes, or more to taste - ⅛ teaspoon
12. Packed brown sugar - ¼ cup
13. Shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese - ½ cup

How to cook deliciously - Easy Smothered Chicken Breasts

1. Stage

Mix flour, bread crumbs, garlic salt, and black pepper together in a bowl. Coat each chicken breast with flour mixture.

Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon, reserving bacon drippings; drain bacon on paper towels.
